  • The Mobile Response Team Advocate will provide direct services to survivors of sexual violence through advocacy and crisis intervention as part of a mobile response team. The ideal candidate has experience in human services and working with clients from various cultural and identity groups. This job requires a person who works well independently with excellent crisis management skills. Applicants with crisis response experience and a strong understanding and/or interest in social justice are encouraged to apply.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide victim advocacy and referrals to survivors of sexual violence during medical forensic exams and advocacy cases in Salt Lake County hospitals and clinics.

    • Be mindfully present and work to understand each client’s individual needs and assist them accordingly. This includes remaining at the hospital for the duration of the Code-R medical forensic exam and assisting with any housing and transportation needs.

    • Represent the Rape Recovery Center with a professional image and manner when working with clients and when interacting with medical and law enforcement personnel.

    • Build collaborative relationships with RRC staff, volunteers, and community partners, as well as members of the community.

    • Attend monthly Mobile Response Team staff meetings and required individual supervisions.

    • Attend the annual Mobile Response Team staff retreat.

    • Respond to work communications within 2-business days.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT OFFER

    • Employee must complete and pass a criminal background check.

    • Employee must obtain a 40-hour crisis counselor certification within 90-days of employment (If you have already taken this training through UCASA it will be accepted). The Rape Recovery Center cannot compensate (hourly office rate) for the training.

    • Employee must complete all new hire paperwork provided to them by the end of the day on the first day of employment.

    • Employee must agree to a probationary period of 90-days from the start of employment. After 90-days the employee will receive a detailed evaluation of their progress.

    • Position Details This is a Non-exempt Part-Time Position: 24 hours on-call per week (six, four-hour shifts). Wage is $5.00 on-call, $17.00 office time (meetings, email upkeep, etc), $21.16 for all direct client services provided (once fully trained). The Rape Recovery Center offers a telehealth benefit for MRT advocates and time and half pay for holidays worked.

    Schedule: We are looking to hire multiple advocates to fill vacant shifts.

  • The Bilingual (Spanish) Therapist will provide direct services to survivors of sexual violence through weekly individual psychotherapy sessions, crisis intervention, and facilitation of a supportive psychotherapy group for survivors. When working with clients, we utilize a trauma-informed lens that focuses on empowerment and a strengths-based perspective. The position entails providing direct service to clients 70% of the time, with the remainder dedicated to personal development, inter-agency meetings, documentation, and supervision. The therapist position includes clinical supervision, active engagement with a highly collaborative clinical team, and professional growth.  

    This is a full-time, 32 hours per week position with full benefits. The hourly rate ranges from $39.00 - $41.50 DOE (approximately $64,896.00-$69,056 annually) and follows a flexible Monday to Friday schedule. Applicants from historically excluded communities are encouraged to apply.  

    Reports To: Clinical Director 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide individual psychotherapy for an 18-client caseload.

    • Facilitate 1 group from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. once per week. 

    • Provide crisis intervention to clients and callers as needed. 

    • Engage in professional training and follow the code of ethics of the licensing board. 

    • Represent the Rape Recovery Center with a professional image and manner.  

    • Assist in supporting clients regarding sexual violence related to immigration, documentation, and access to services in and outside of the agency as needed and client consultation and conceptualization as needed. 

    • Implement surveys and assessment tools to clients for individual and RRC service evaluation.

    • Complete accurate records including assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and clinical notes within 24 hours of a therapy appointment. 

    • Participate and engage in scheduled clinical, staff meetings, and training seminars as directed.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bilingual (Spanish/English) speaking therapist

    • CSW, LCSW, CMHC, ACMHC or other related mental health licensure

    • Masters or Doctorate degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology. 

    • Demonstrated knowledge of Utah statutes concerning mental health and crisis services.  

    • Innovative, collaborative, and self-directed

    • Outstanding communication skills, including writing, de-escalation, crisis intervention, and listening

    • Ability to work well with—and inspire confidence in—volunteers and clients

    • Excellence in balancing multiple responsibilities 

    • Organized and detail-oriented 

    • Understanding of micro, mezzo and macro systems and their impact on survivors

     DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker or other terminal Clinical Licensure, licensure eligible

    • 2-5 years of clinical experience

    • Telehealth experience

    • EMDR Level 1 and 2 training complete

    • IFS Informed training complete 

    • Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of the treatment of complex trauma. 

    • Experience with case management, crisis advocacy, and working with vulnerable populations (LGBTQI+, Homeless, Pacific Islanders, American Indian/Native American, undocumented immigrants)

      • Employees/Staff Members of the RRC cannot be alone with clients until the background check is received and reviewed for risk. 

    • The employee must obtain a 40-hour crisis counselor certification and submit within 120 days.

    • The employee agrees to a probationary period of 90-days from the first day of working in their new position. After 90-days, the employee will receive a detailed evaluation of their progress.

  • The Clinical Intern will provide direct services to survivors of sexual violence through weekly individual psychotherapy sessions, crisis intervention, and facilitation of a supportive psychotherapy group for survivors. When working with clients, we utilize a trauma-informed lens that focuses on empowerment and a strengths-based perspective. The role involves providing direct service to clients approximately 50% of the time, with the remainder focused on professional development, inter-agency meetings, training, and supervision. The internship includes excellent supervision, active engagement with a collaborative clinical team, and opportunities for professional growth through clinical training and ongoing consultation.  

    The internship is temporary and designed for individuals pursuing a master's or doctoral degree in social work, clinical mental health counseling, or psychology. It offers valuable clinical training experience for class credit. This internship includes a stipend of $20 per hour, up to 550 hours for the academic year.  The stipend is contingent upon the availability of grant funding.     • Represent the Rape Recovery Center with a professional image and manner.  

    • Assist in supporting clients regarding sexual violence related to immigration, documentation, and access to services in and outside of the agency as needed and client consultation and conceptualization as needed. 

    • Implement surveys and assessment tools to clients for individual and RRC service evaluation.

    • Complete accurate records including assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and clinical notes within 24 hours of a therapy appointment. 

    • Participate and engage in scheduled clinical, staff meetings, and training seminars as directed.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • A current graduate student enrolled in a credentialed CMHC, Ph.D., or MSW program

    • Commit to two full semesters, August 2025-May 2026 

    • Twenty hours per week, including group consultation, clinical meetings, and clinical training seminars. Office hours Monday-Thursday, 9 am-7 pm. Fridays 9 am-5:00 pm. 

    • 1-2 evenings required. 

    • Excellence in balancing multiple responsibilities

    • Understanding of micro, mezzo and macro systems and their impact on survivors

    • Complete the Crisis Response Plan training within 90 days of internship from the Utah Department of Health & Human Services Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health.

    • Complete University required practicum hours and projects for Fall and Spring semesters.

    • Interns must comply with the flu and COVID-19 vaccination policy.
